The Community Finding Cures for Brain Cancer

GlioDAO is an open, global community offering funding and transformational support for glioma research.

The GlioDAO Mission

Brain cancer remains one of the most challenging forms of cancer, with limited treatment options and poor survival prognosis. Despite its severity, current funding and research efforts fall short of what is needed. Even incremental advances could lead to significant breakthroughs in treatment methods and patient outcomes.

GlioDAO's objective is to unite a global community in the fight against brain cancer by leveraging blockchain technology to democratize funding decisions, drive innovative research, and incentivize the decentralized collection of patient data, paving the way for breakthrough diagnostics and treatments.

LDL Receptor Appearance as a Diagnostic Early Detector

LDL Receptor Appearance as a Diagnostic Early Detector

Cancers feed on Lipoprotein particles from the blood stream and bring these "food particles" into their cells by increasing the number of receptors. Early research has shown widespread Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor (LDLR) expression in microscopic slides of brain tumor samples.

Machine Learning-Assisted Early Detection

Machine Learning-Assisted Early Detection

The recent development of digital whole slide scanners makes AI-based histopathological image analysis feasible and helps to diagnose cancer by accurately counting cell types and/or quantitative analysis.

Assessing GBM Isolation Through Digital Phenotyping

Assessing GBM Isolation Through Digital Phenotyping

This study investigates how social isolation and loneliness affect glioblastoma (GBM) patients and their caregivers. GBM is a severe brain cancer that often leads to substantial physical limitations
